About Miss Wilson

Hello and welcome to the 2022-2023 school year. I am looking forward to having your child in the classroom this year.

My name is Nycoria Wilson and I will be your 8th grade Math teacher this year. I am a native of Brownsville, TN, but I have resided in Memphis Tennessee since August 2016. I have grown to love Memphis as my home. I moved here to Memphis to teach inner city children, and began my journey in the Orange Mound community.

I am a graduate of Lane College, where I received my Bachelors of Arts in Biology/Pre-Med.  Though I planned to go to medical school, I found a passion to work with children during my Senior Year of college, thus becoming a teacher. While teaching, I obtained my Master’s Degree from Bethel University, and am currently working on my Administrator Licensure and Ed. D. at Freed-Hardeman University.

I am excited to begin my 11th year of teaching at Memphis School of Excellence with a team that is innovative and passionate about bringing out the best in you. This year in Math we will be studying topics that will be a bridge for Algebra I and Geometry. We will be creating and completing some great activities and projects this year. I cannot wait to see your creativity.
