Principal\'s Message

Principal's Message

Dear MSE family,

I am thrilled to welcome you to another exciting school year at Memphis School of Excellence Middle (MSEM)! As many of you know, I have been a part of the MSE family for the past 8 years, serving as a counselor to many of your children who have since graduated. I am honored and excited to now serve as the principal of MSEM.
Our school is truly a family-oriented community, and it has been a joy to see the younger siblings of students I previously worked with join us at MSEM. I believe in the power of our strong community—together, we are truly better.
At MSEM, we are committed to data-driven instruction and are proud to be a STEM-focused school. Our goal is to ensure that every student leaves us ready to excel in high school and beyond. I am passionate about education, and I firmly believe that children don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. With this in mind, I am dedicated to providing a supportive and nurturing environment where every student can thrive.
As we embark on this new school year, I am excited about the opportunities and experiences that await us. Please feel free to reach out to me via email or contact the school if you have any questions or if you would simply like to connect. I look forward to working with each of you and making this a wonderful year at MSEM!

Sincerely,
Relista Ward, Ed.S
MSEM PreK-8th Principal
