Hello Sunflowers!

 

My name is Ms. Tucker, and I am the Middle School ELA Interventionists for the 2021-2022 school year. I am originally from Memphis, TN, but I went to school in Nashville, TN. I graduated from Fisk University, a small private HBCU, where I majored in English with a concentration in Secondary Education. A fun fact about me is that I actually graduated from Memphis School of Excellence at this very campus! I am, also, an alumni of the very first class to start MSE. 

 

I am a first year teacher, however it has been a passion of mine for a long time and I have worked with students in other capacities outside of the classroom. I have been a reading and writing tutor for many years, ranging from the lowest academic level of 4th grade to the highest of college seniors. I have a strong background in English and writing, contributed to research surrounding collegiate level curriculum, and edited and published some personal writing. 

 

In my role I am here to be a resource to you in all of the areas that you need or want help with the most in English/Language Arts. Intervention is nothing be ashamed of, but should be thought of as a stepping stone for you to be the best possible scholar that you can be! We are going to work hard this year, meet (EXCEED!) all of our mastery goals for the school year, and have fun! I am always available through if you have any questions or concerns. Let's GROW!
