Mystery Readers Needed

Literacy is key to student success! We invite you to support our school’s literacy efforts by reading to our PreK-5 students each Friday from 8:00–8:30 a.m. Studies show that early literacy is essential, yet only 40% of Tennessee third graders read proficiently. If you’re interested, please use the QR code on our flyer to sign up and inspire our young readers!

Executive Director's Message

Dear MSE family,

We welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year with great pride and excitement. As we look forward to another year of learning, we are recommitting ourselves to the success of every student and hope that you will join us in making MSE the finest system it can be. We all have a role to play in building a successful school year – students, faculty, parents, and staff. Our handbook is intended to help us understand how we can contribute. MSE lays out our expectations for how we can all work together to give our students the best education possible. However, we can’t do it alone. We firmly believe that when students, faculty, staff, and parents are all working together, there is nothing we can’t achieve as a school system.

We ask our parents to review the entire school policies and procedures with their students and keep them as a reference during this school year. Parents or students with questions about the expectations should contact their Principal. Most of all, I hope you will find a way to grow more involved with your school and campus community.

On behalf of Memphis School of Excellence's faculty and staff members, we wish you all the best for a fantastic year.

Sincerely,
Samuel Beyhan, Ed.D.
Executive Director
